Fourth of July Pet Safety

Do’s and Don’ts for Keeping your Pup Safe this Independence Day

Fourth of July Fireworks are fun and exciting for us, but can be truly terrifying for our pets. It can cause them to go into Fight or Flight Mode, either destroying the house or leaving a Fido sized hole in the window screen. More dogs go missing and end up in shelters on Fourth of July weekend than any other time of year. According to PetAmberAlert.com, animal control sees a 30-60% increase in lost pets on July 4-6 every year. Sadly only 14% are returned to their owners. We want your dog to be safe and happy this Independence Day, so we’ve put together a list of Do’s and Dont’s to minimize the negative impact on your best friend.

Denver’s First Pop Up Park! The Square on 21st

New Things to do in Denver

Pop Up restaurants and shops have maintained their chic-mystique over the past several years. But, ahead-of-the-cool-curve-Denver has taken the concept several steps further with a pop up park! The Square on 21st spans 21st street from Larimer to Lawrence (The Ballpark Block) and will be entertaining Denverites until August 15th, 2017 from 7am to 11pm, daily. Mayor Hancock explained the new project - a partnership with Denver’s Department of Public Works, upon its July opening, “Our parks bring neighbors together, and this new public space will allow the community to spend time outdoors and experience our vibrant downtown in new ways.”
